Notably, we have launched a national digital literacy initiative, training over 4000 women entrepreneurs and supported them to onboard on to digital platforms like ONDC, GeM, Flipkart etc with a vision to reach 10,000 by 2027.
Through strategic networking, business support, and global trade opportunities, Ubuntu Consortium stands as a unifying force for women entrepreneurs spread across the country and advancing the role of women in trade and industry while strengthening their contribution to India’s economy.

Why UBUNTU?

The belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity – UBUNTU” is the philosophy that inspired a group of successful women entrepreneurs, guided and led by a visionary leader, Ms. Ratnaprabha IAS, former Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka, to launch ‘UBUNTU CONSORTIUM’ a consortium of Women Entrepreneur associations pan India.

Story of UBUNTU
Ms. K. RATNA PRABHA, IAS(R)

Founder President
Former Chief Secretary,
Govt. of Karnataka

It is with immense pride and gratitude that I reflect on Ubuntu Consortia’s transformative journey over the past seven years. What began as a humble vision during my tenure as Additional Chief Secretary of Commerce & Industries has blossomed into a powerful movement—57 member associations strong, uniting over 30,000 women entrepreneurs across 12 states. Our story started with a simple yet profound idea: to create a collaborative platform where women entrepreneurs could uplift one another. I vividly recall the early brainstorming sessions. Where we envisioned Ubuntu as a catalyst for growth, resilience, and solidarity. Today, that vision thrives through initiatives like our Digital Marketing Training Programs, global partnerships, and advocacy at forums such as the South and Southwest Asia Sub-Regional Forum on Sustainable Development. None of this would be possible without the unwavering dedication of our founders, Presidents of member associations, and Managing Committiee members and partners. I extend my deepest gratitude to the Government of India and Karnataka for their foundational support, our sponsors for their trust, and every woman who dared to dream with us. I must mention that without the support M/s MIKIKO TANAKA Head of UNESCAP of south east Asian Countries and Shri Rajan Sudesh Ratna we could not have succeded in our journey of Digital Transformation.
